"See You Again" is a vocal by American state music artist Carrie Underwood. It was written past Underwood, Hillary Lindsey, and David Hodges. It was released as the fourth and final single from Underwood'south fourth studio album, Diddled Away, on April 15, 2013. Underwood announced the unmarried on her official Twitter account.[1]

Underwood debuted the vocal on the 12th season of American Idol on Apr iv, 2013.[2] "See You Again" is Underwood's eighteenth sequent Pinnacle 10 single on the Billboard Hot Land Songs chart and is also her seventeenth single to exist certified at least Gold by the RIAA. As of December 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the United states of america.[3] On August 10, 2015, "See Y'all Again" was officially certified every bit Platinum.[4]

"See You Again" tells the story of moving onwards after experiencing the expiry of a loved one in life. The lyrics provide hope and promise through Underwood'due south belief that one will reunite with every fallen loved one in the afterlife. The song's opening consists of a solo piano, followed by a backing chorus and band kicking in shortly after.

"See You Over again" was originally i of three songs written for the 2010 characteristic film The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. Of the three songs that Underwood, Hodges, and Lindsey co-wrote for the film, the workers behind the project opted to choose "There's a Place For The states." Underwood pushed to include "See You Again" on her quaternary studio album, Blown Abroad, during the writing process of the album.

The song has received positive reviews from music critics. Country Airplay chart for the week of April xiii, 2013,[10] and peaked at No. ii for the chart dated September 7, 2013.[11] It entered the Billboard Hot 100 at No. ninety for the chart dated May 18, 2013,[12] and peaked at No. 34 for the chart of August 31, 2013.[13] It also peaked at No.vii on the Hot Country Songs chart on August 24, 2013. As of December 2013, the single has sold 740,000 copies in the U.s..[3]

On Baronial 10, 2015 "See You Once more" was officially certified equally Platinum.[4]

Live Performances [edit]

Underwood performed the song in May 2018 during an episode of American Idol in which she mentored the top five contestants.[14] The song was included in the setlist for the Cry Pretty Tour.[15]

On June 7, 2013, Practiced Morn America gave a first wait for the music video for "See You Again". The full video premiered before long after on ABCNews.com.[17] The music video was directed by Eric Welch.[xviii] It showed the aftermaths of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting, the September 11 attacks and the 2013 Moore, Oklahoma, tornado, along with diverse reunions.
